Jonna Jokikunnas is a Finnish contemporary artist whose ethereal oil paintings are rooted in poetic realism and Nordic melancholy. Her work explores grief, memory, mortality, and the fragile beauty of being human, giving form to fleeting moments and emotions that linger.

She currently specialises in painting on naturally shaped wood, allowing its organic forms and imperfections to become an integral part of each work. Drawing inspiration from music, poetry, cinema, nature, and human experience, she creates paintings that invite quiet reflection on life’s transience. A sense of stillness and melancholy runs through her work, shaped by her connection to Finland and the Nordic landscape.

Jonna holds a degree in visual arts and has complemented her education with independent studies in art history through an open university. She has exhibited in Finland and internationally, and her painting La Douleur is held by the Carmelo Fabio D’Antoni Foundation in Italy. In 2026, the Foundation recognised her as a Poetic Neo-Stilnovist Artist and appointed her its honorary Art Ambassador in Finland.
